7 Townhouse Urban Brownfield Site Development
We were responsible for the design and project management of a small infill residential development on a brownfield site in Portlaoise, Co. Laois to the rear of the client’s veterinary practice.
The infill housing development comprises seven three-bedroom townhouses that have been accommodated on a site that is only 32m wide giving an average width of only 4.5 m. This has been achieved by a clever arrangement of interlocking L-shaped houses with the central unit stepping up to a third floor. The planning permission included a separate building with three two-bed apartments and two office units which are currently the subject of a revised design with residential use only.
The scheme represents a high density with the equivalent of 76 units per hectare.
